Mountain View Elementary provides an exceptional educational foundation for all students through a balanced and comprehensive curriculum. Our mission is to cooperatively strive to help students become life-long problem solvers, enthusiastic learners, and positive contributors to society. At Mountain View, we recognize the importance of reading, writing and math instruction, and we work hard to provide meaningful and integrated learning experiences in all content areas.

Mountain View Elementary was built in 1954. Staff members are focused on promoting high levels of learning and creativity while a strong educational program is maintained. Mountain View staff members work collaboratively to provide meaningful and rigorous instruction that engages all students.

Greg Hyde, Principal

This is Greg Hyde’s first year as the principal of Mountain View. He was previously the principal at Linus Pauling Middle School for the last 3 years. He was also an assistant principal at Linus Pauling, a teacher, and a new teacher mentor.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science degree from North Carolina State University.
