Mountain View Elementary provides an exceptional educational foundation for all students through a balanced and comprehensive curriculum. Our mission is to cooperatively strive to help students become life-long problem solvers, enthusiastic learners, and positive contributors to society. At Mountain View, we recognize the importance of reading, writing and math instruction, and we work hard to provide meaningful and integrated learning experiences in all content areas.
Mountain View Elementary was built in 1954. Currently we serve 225 students with 50 certified and classified staff members. Staff members are focused on promoting high levels of learning and creativity while a strong educational program is maintained. Mountain View staff members work collaboratively to provide meaningful and rigorous instruction that engages all students.
Byron Bethards, Principal
Byron Bethards has been the principal at Mountain View Elementary since 2018. He started as an elementary school teacher in Corvallis School District at Jefferson Elementary in 2009. He later became principal of Adams Elementary in 2013. Mr. Bethards always puts children first and encourages his students to become lifelong learners. He teaches students to be respectful and responsible while always striving to do their personal best.
